Simba and Coco Need Your Help!

We would like you to meet Simba and Coco.  Both these lovely dogs came into rescue on Saturday (11/10/07) from extremely neglectful conditions.  Simba is between 6-7 and Coco is about 9 years old.  They went to the vet yesterday and have a number of major medical conditions, Simba has a grade 4 heart murmur, Coco has a lump that the vet feels was caused by an ACL injury that was never taken care of.  Some of their problems have been caused by extremely POOR nutrition and we are hopeful that reversing this they will start to improve.  They had blood tests and x-rays yesterday and Simba had an EKG.  They are both facing extensive dental surgery and the vet feels that after he is done, neither dog will have many teeth remaining.  He said to us that he has never seen a dog, moreover, two dogs from the same household, with such terrible teeth, but is hopeful that these teeth are more than likely causing some of their existing health problems. 

In addition they both had flea infestations; allergy related skin conditions and both have tumors on their bodies.  These tumors will be tested during their dental surgery and we are hoping they are just fatty tumors.
